This past week was spent road tripping all the way to Yosemite National Park in California. Ethan and I, along with our friends Gabby and Ethan (we like ourselves an Ethan) made the long trek - and I am so forever thankful that we could all share this experience and small car space together. I must note that we stopped in Las Vegas for a day and a half on the way there and it was actually a seriously good time. We spent our time day drinking margaritas that were a yard tall, exploring all the casinos and missing all the Belagio fountain performances.
We also probably walked more in Vegas than we have on many a hike. Have you ever been to Vegas?? The crosswalks are ridiculous, you practically have to walk half a mile out of the way just to find a bridge to cross the street. It worked out though, I needed to walk off all the In- N- Out.
Trail: Mist Trail
Round Trip: 6.8 miles
Directions from Boulder: drive a very very very long time West
Overview: The trail winds it's way up, through and around two extremely powerful waterfalls. Vernal Falls, the first you will encounter, will drench you with all the mist from the falls. I would say pack a raincoat, which I did - and failed to use- but in my opinion it really makes the experience by getting soaked. The trail then leads you another 1.6 miles to the top of Nevada Falls. Here you can take in the views of half dome and enjoy the five layer dip + chips you probably packed (oh, just me?).
Soooo when we reached the top of Nevada Falls, Ethan got down on one knee!
I SAID YES! and now I get to spend a lifetime adventuring with my best friend.
