Hike: Grays and Torrey's Peak
Trailhead: Grays Peak Trailhead in Mt. Evans Wilderness
Roundtrip: 8.5 miles
The adventure started Saturday night when Ethan, Harrison and I set out to car camp along Guanella Pass in Georgetown. We set up for the night in the back of the Tacoma and went to sleep with our alarms set for 4:00 am. We both instinctively woke up at 3:30 am - you could say we were just a little bit stoked.
We got ready, packed our packs and were on the trail by 5:30 am. I have never started a hike in the dark and I don't think I have ever been happier. I was hiking as the sun came up. It was unreal!
There is something about standing atop a mountain at 14,270 ft that makes you say both "WHAT THE heck did I get myself into" and also "LET'S DO ALL OF THEM". It's exhilarating and exhausting and we are already ready for more.
