Poudre Canyon

Poudre Canyon

This weekend Ethan and I found ourselves camping along the Poudre River in Fort Collins.

We drove about two hours till we hit the Roosevelt National Forest and found a cozy spot next to the river.

It rained for a bit - but that just made the experience all the better. I love nothing more than the way the mountains look after a spring shower. It's unbelievable. The beauty that surrounds us is unreal and I am in a constant state of shock and appreciation that I can call places like this my home.

Overall, this trip consisted of sitting next to the river, drinking cider, relaxing and waving to the rafters going by (which I hope to do myself soon because...rafting. and the Poudre).

Kinda perfect.

Directions from Boulder: hop on Diagonal Highway and follow it all the way through Longmont till you reach I-25. Turn left (North). Follow I-25N and take Exit 296B towards Fort Collins ( turning left onto E Mulberry St.) You'll follow straight, but quickly veer right onto US287/CO-14. Follow 287/14 until you are able to turn left onto CO-14/Poudre Canyon. Here you'll lose all cell service! Keep driving - all the camping starts at least 13 miles in. Y

Yup, rainy camp days are definitely my favorite.
